It is with a great sadness that we announce the passing of Emmy Simandl (nee Hanzl). She passed away peacefully sitting in her favourite recliner at home.
Emmy was predeceased by her husband Karl. She leaves to mourn her passing, her daughter Jacqueline and many friends.
Emmy was born in Vienna, Austria, and had a great appreciation for good wine and fine coffee (especially with whipped cream!). Emmy loved to cook and bake, especially traditional foods from her homeland. She was widely known for her fabulous apfel strudel.
Emmy also loved going to casinos with her daughter and friends. She had a knack for coming home with more money than she started with. Anyone who knew her never asked if she won, but rather how much she won.
Emmy will always be lovingly remembered by her daughter, and her many friends for her huge smiles and contagious laughter.
A private family service will be held at a later date.

We offer you our condolences on the loss of your Mother Emmy. We met your parents back in the mid 1970's when we took our twins for their first haircuts. Your parents were so loving and the boys had the run of the shop, especially trying to put rollers in each others hair. The boys looked so forward to visiting their shop. Your parents gifted us a beautiful rose colored glass vase , from one of their trips to Austria.
