It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hazel Mae Trenchard on November 15, 2023.
Hazel will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Carol (Frank), Joan (Turc), and her son Craig (Colleen) as well as eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert, parents, Orville and Freda Romans, sisters, Irma and Doreen, and brother Donald.
Hazel was born December 21, 1925, in Winnipeg. She grew up in St. Vital and spent her entire life in the community she loved so much. As a volunteer visiting recovering war veterans in 1949 she met and married the love of her life, Robert Trenchard. Hazel spent many happy years with Bob raising children, being active in the community, and working at Eatons.
Hazel’s life centered around her family. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. Grandchildren were her special joy and being around them made her especially happy. She would sit with her knitting and a smile on her face while she watched the children play.
Hazel will be remembered as a kind and gentle person. She was forgiving and generous to everyone. She will be deeply missed by her family and anyone who knew her.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Meadowood Manor. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the War Amps Child Amputee Program.
