We sadly announce that John Philip Gottfried peacefully passed away on November 10, 2023, with family at his side, at the age of 93 years. John was born April 6, 1930.
He was predeceased by his daughter Karen Marie; first wife Margaret Mary (nee Campbell); his brother and sisters, Jacob, Emily, Charlotte and Anne.
John is survived by his loving wife Audrey (nee Anderson); sons, Barry, Wayne (Judy), Greg (Chris); grandchildren, Robert (Jill), Kim (Cory), and Wesley; and great-granddaughter Fiona; and nieces, Sharron Popp and Diane Hovind; and nephew Darwin Gottfried.
John grew up in Regina and after completing high school had several jobs with different companies which included California Standard Oil and the Uniroyal Tire Corporation. In 1966 John moved to Winnipeg to operate the Uniroyal Tire and Auto Centre location on Sherbrook Street for 21 years until his retirement.
The family would like to thank the care team of Maples Personal Care Home unit 1E for the care and compassion given to John.
A family graveside service will be held in Regina and a celebration of life service will be held in Winnipeg at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
