Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • When I reflect on the times that Paul’s life intersected with mine, it usually involved weddings. Each occasion carries its own memories for me - whether is was the joy he expressed during his marriage to Shelly - or his quiet dignity attending Cyndi’s ‘ditto’ marriage to John in dress uniform. There, he watched with a shake of his head and a knowing smirk, as a youthful Colin did his impression of a ‘worm’ wriggling around on the dance floor. Speaking of dancing, he astonished everyone, when he danced with the bride at Chantel’s marriage to Joe! The last time I saw Paul was at Amber’s graduation exercise at RMC. Although he did not encourage her to pursue a career in the military it was evident, as we followed her around the obstacle course, that he was very, very proud of her. Micaela was too young during those years for me to witness much of her growth so she will, I expect imagine Paul’s presence, as she progresses through life. The last time I spoke to Paul he shared his excitement at being a grandfather, or should I say a ‘Grand Dad’. Jeff and Martha did a fine job in raising Paul for whom I can only conclude, that although he lived but one life, many lives were touched.
