Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Dear Smandych Family. I have been thinking of you all. Jean was a unique and caring lady. She had the best perogies and cabbage rolls. We enjoyed our bowling and bingo too. Hugs to all. - Posted by: Lori Willcocks (Friend) on: Nov 30, 2023

  • I loved living next door to Jean and Matt. I moved here in 1992 and they welcomed Ross and I right away. I had 5 cats. Shortly after moving in, and during Matt's illness, many hours were spent on the chaise lounge with Minnie beside him, comforting and providing peace. Later, Chester the magic cat provided lots of joy for Jean in her awesome garden which always seemed to grow amazingly despite her telling me that she knew nothing about gardening, that it was all Matt! Lots of great memories over the years! God Bless! Grant Hackman - Posted by: Grant Hackman (next door neighbour) on: Nov 28, 2023

  • "Grandma" Smandych was an amazing woman. Her Christmas preparations were legendary. Strong and caring she treated everyone like family. Thank you for including me in that lucky group. The last of our elders in the extended family she will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to all her children, grand-children and great-grand-children. Love and hugs each of you. She loved you so much. - Posted by: Dorée Sabourin (Family) on: Nov 26, 2023
