C’est avec une grande tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de notre chère maman, mémère et arrière mémère, Claire. Paisiblement, entouré de sa famille elle est décédée le 22 novembre 2023, trois jours avant son 97e anniversaire.
She leaves to mourn her loving family. Her children: Evéline Delorme, Louise Boucher, Gérard, Edouard (Joanne), Fernand (Joanne) and Lionel. Her grandchildren: Pauline (Kevin), Richard (Rowena), Yvonne (Christopher), Rachelle (George), Estelle (Jeremy), Gilles (Leah), Jaclyn (Iain), Joëlle (André), Janine and Kelly (Nick). Her great-grandchildren: Isabelle, Emélie, Paige, Briana, Lincoln, Andraja, Jake and Julian. Also, son-in-law Ron Boucher and sisters-in-law Gisèle Laurin, Jeannine Jeanson and Renée Jeanson. She was predeceased by her husband Rosaire 33 years ago, parents Arthur and Evélina Laurin, brother Gérard Laurin and son-in-law Paul Delorme.
Mom leaves behind her legacy of love, kindness, inner strength and devotion to her family. Proudly independent she gave so much and asked for so little. Her greatest passions were her green thumb and her delicious meals with which she nurtured her family. Her cookie jar was always full of her famous homemade cookies. She also enjoyed knitting, making quilts, reading and praying. She laughed easily and often, which was very contagious. She was very generous with her time and her wisdom. But most of all she cared deeply for her family.
Mom and Dad started their married life in Dufresne, Manitoba where they operated a grain and cattle farm. They worked tirelessly and lovingly raising their six children and managing the farm. In order to help provide for her family, Mom went to work at St. Amant Centre. She later was hired as head cook at Villa Youville in Ste. Anne, Manitoba and then went back to St. Amant Centre until her retirement. In her retirement, she continued to devote her time to help her children and grandchildren and also found time to volunteer at Foyer Valade.
She was a woman of deep and unwavering faith. She attended mass every Sunday and in her later years when she was unable to attend in person, she would watch mass every day on TV. Often when visiting her, we would find her with her rosary in her hands. She generously supported several Christian missions and charities.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Actionmarguerite St. Vital (Foyer Valade), especially those on the 3rd floor for all the care and compassion they provided for our dear mother, she lived her final years with dignity.
A eulogy will be presented at 1:15 p.m., with a Funeral Mass being celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at St. Eugène Church, 1009 St Mary's Rd. A private family interment will immediately follow at the St. Boniface Cemetery, 917 Archibald St.

My deepest sympathy to the family. I too have fond memories of her and am thankful to have had her as my godmother. There was something special about her calm and loving disposition. Her love of life and for those she knew was profound and I have no doubt that she will have a continuing presence through the love each of you hold for each other. Mes sincères condoléances. My sincere condolences to all of you. My dear Mom and Dad (Léandre and Agnès) were so fond of both of your parents and the family. We sure had a lot of fun times visiting all of you. It brings back a lot of memories. Loosing your Mom is difficult but she will always remain in your hearts. Take care.
