We were so very saddened to hear of Kimberley's passing. What a beautiful legacy she left behind. We realize your lives will never be the same, without your precious wife, Mom and grandma. But it's the treasured memories that we keep in our hearts, that will sustain us. Our deepest condolences to the Midford Family. I was greatly saddened to read of Kim’s passing. I met Kim and her family more than 50 years ago, both of us attending the same classes in junior and senior high. She and I lived a block away and many mornings we would walk to Weskay High School. I ran into Kim more than six years ago, and It was as if no time had passed. Kim was smart, athletic and I will always remember her beautiful smile and great laugh. My sincere condolences to Jim, your Kids and Grandkids and Kim’s Sisters. - Posted by: Karen (Shreiber) Howell (Friend) on: Dec 02, 2023

We’ve lost a beautiful soul! I met Kim at the North Y, when we were 15, 16 years old. We were LIT’s-leaders in training-the beginnings of us both working with kids. While we didn’t really hang out at that time as we went to different high schools, we reconnected in the faculty of phys.Ed. at the university of Manitoba. There, we took classes together, taught creative dance classes on Saturday to earn extra cash, student taught at the same school, Lord Roberts. We both ended up getting hired with the Wpg.1 school division. While I stayed teaching elementary phys.Ed. my whole career, Kim was always up for a challenge….she was so smart!! She went from teaching phys.Ed., to classroom…pretty much all levels, to teaching special needs and then ultimately went into administration at some really tough inner city schools, retiring as principal at Sister Mac. No matter her role as teacher or administrator, she cared deeply for her students, their families and community. Some of the adventures we went on included a 3 day canoe trip in Clearwater Bay, where Kim, Jim, Don and I really roughed it! In the summer of 1980, Kim and I embarked on a European backpacking experience through 5 countries, so fun and enriching! Speaking of enriching, Kim, who was always up for a challenge, persuaded a reluctant me, to go get what was known way back then, as a pre masters program….so for the next 3 years, we took summer classes and night classes to attain this! She loved the pursuit of knowledge! As we continued on our busy lives of working and raising our families, we had our times of relaxation through our dinner group and enjoying MTC productions. In our retirement years, our connection was strengthened. As we lived on the same street, we would walk to our local farmers market, had many chats on the street or each others’ home, went to a few jets games, became regular symphony patrons and had just renewed our MTC subscription. We had many telephone chats, where we were each others’ biggest cheerleaders in our kids and grandkids’ achievements. Kim was so proud of her kids and grandkids!! I consider myself so lucky to have had such a dear, wonderful, caring friend…she enriched my life! I miss you, my friend, and hold our memories close to my heart. - Posted by: Martha and Don Maksymyk (Good friends) on: Dec 01, 2023

I worked with Kim @ Tyndall Park School early in our teaching career. She was a wonderful caring teacher and valued staff member that was respected for her skills and energy. She demonstrated a true kindness and caring for all her students. Kim taught both our sons in Kindergarten and gave them the positive guidance that was so important at their age. We'll miss you Kim. Heartfelt condolences to family and friends. We knew you from when our daughters played soccer together and went to school together, and when you and Ron coached the girls soccer. There were also the famous "supper club" nights with Jim, the Diducks and the Maksymyks when the eight of us got together to eat, imbibe, laugh and share stories of family and life. Now they are ever so precious memories. .... A warm heart and sharp mind lost to this world but gained in another. - Posted by: Ron and Naomi (friends) on: Nov 30, 2023

Peggy and Family, I was sorry to read of Kim’s passing. Growing up Kim was quite a bit older so I didn’t know her on a peer level but I did have her as a swimming teacher at the North Y and whenever I knocked on your door and Kim answered she was always so kind. My sympathy to you and your family. - Posted by: Natalie ( Childhood friend ) on: Nov 29, 2023

I am so sorry to hear of Kim’s passing. I remember her as a parent when Jeremy was in Grade 2. In that role she was as knowledgeable as I understand she was as a professional. I valued her insights into her son and appreciated her comments about teaching in general. I wish the family peace. Please know Kim is remembered. - Posted by: Brenda Wedlake (Jeremy’s grade two teacher) on: Nov 29, 2023

So sad to hear of Kim’s passing. She was one of the most caring administrators I have worked with. She was fun, loving but she could throw a good punch! She was respected by all that had the pleasure of working with her. I always knew who I could confide in or talk to If something was bothering me, personally or processional. She will Be missed. - Posted by: Lorie Gulay (Former Head Secretary- Sister Mac & friend) on: Nov 28, 2023

I had the pleasure of knowing Kim as one of her grandchildren played sports with my daughter. She was her grandchildren’s’ biggest and most dedicated fan. She was incredibly kind, thoughtful and intelligent. Her family was her world. Our game side chats will be missed. My most sincerest condolences. - Posted by: Kathleen Mira (Friend) on: Nov 28, 2023

What can I say that has not already been said. Kim was one of the kindest, most loving, and strongest people I have known in my teaching career. For Kim the students always came first and she made sure that every student was loved and cared for. Kim set high expectations at our school and both students and staff rose to meet them. I have nothing but good memories of my time working with Kim and feel nothing but love and honour for the time we had together. I will miss you dearly and I hope you know the lasting legacy you have left on the many lives you touched. - Posted by: Maggie (Colleague) on: Nov 28, 2023

Oh, Kim. I am heartbroken to hear of your passing. Amber and I planned so many times to reach out to you to go for coffee, but life gets in the way and we are clearly now too late. I wish I could have said goodbye. You were such an incredibly important part of my growth as a clinician and I still, to this day, more than a decade later, ask myself "What would Kim do?" when faced with a challenge. You were fierce Kim; with a tornado-level intensity in every second you supported kids and families. Every day you greeted those little faces at the school doors with love and welcoming and a safe place to be. You marched with them around the community with joy, and they followed you like the pied piper! Every family knew your name, and you knew theirs in return. Fierce in your advocacy, fierce in your search for resources, fierce in your defence. But never fierce at heart. Even though we haven't seen each other in years, you have always remained a huge presence in my life. You've always made me better. Your absence will leave a space in my life. Not an empty one, but one filled with all your kindness, all your brilliance, all your strength. It is a big space for sure! And one that I continue to draw on regularly. The last day I saw you we sat on the bench outside William Whyte. Kristin, you said, I have something to tell you. I'm tired. Well, I guess you can take a rest now....hey Kim? - Posted by: Kristin Meyer (Colleague ) on: Nov 28, 2023

I had the pleasure to work with Kim at William Whyte School. Her dedication to her job and the kids was the main priority always had a smile on her face regardless what came her way. I learned a lot from Kim and will take with me the experience of being a role model to our kids. My condolences to her family and friends thoughts and prayers go out at this difficult time. - Posted by: Daniel West (Co-worker ) on: Nov 28, 2023
