The Pinawa Night crawlers, were the teenagers of town. Some almost 18 and the rest were aiming for 18. Sneaking out to play Red Rover, or to visit the beach, do a prank or two or just walk the town; where we encounter bears doing the same. Gary joined that group, though younger than most. His height would tell you he was about the same, but not. His humour, his smile and the stories he could spin. He ALWAYS made me smile; about 58+ years of always being able to walk back into each other's lives, and resume where we left off. I've never been able to think of Gary without a warm feeling and a smile. Always in my heart! - Posted by: Lynn Patterson (Friends, from the beginning) on: Dec 03, 2023

Gary was my favourite cousin; we often told each other this and laughed. Gary had a lovely sense of humour and quick wit. He was kind and caring; when we were young, Gary would often come out to the Whiteshell cabin for the day on his motorcycle and give us younger kids a ride down the gravel roads to 'the pits,' where we could race him up and down the rocky piles, or take us to the beach to swim as he sat and watched on the picnic table under the trees. Gary was a good man who usually hid his warm heart under his leather jackets and freely shared his laugh with us all. He is likely at a Tiki bar leaning on the candlelit counter, under the Christmas lights, sipping a cold one, and resting as the ocean waves roll gently and surely, the brilliant pink sun setting quietly behind him. See you a little further up the road Cuz. You are loved. - Posted by: Darlene Searcy (Cousin) on: Dec 02, 2023
