• So sorry to read about this. I worked with Gerry at Monarch for years and stayed in touch with him after. We always called each other on birthdays even after he left. He was a great friend. • 10 years ago, on December 19th, I chanced to meet Gerald who was enjoying a coffee with his son Greg at the Empress Starbucks. He was behind me in line when the Starbucks barista happened to mention that because it was my birthday, I could get a free item. As I happened to be having lunch there, I ordered two items and then heard a voice behind me say: … and I’ll pay for the other part of it ~ it was Gerald, out of the blue, had never met him before. He was so kind and I stopped by their table to chat with them both. Will never forget his kindness!
