It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret “Peggy” Diane Blair (nee Bonnor) on Friday, December 15th, 2023, in Brandon, MB.
Peggy was born in Regina, SK, on October 16th, 1945. The family moved to Brandon when she was a teenager. Peggy trained as a teacher and her first position was near Justice, MB, where she met Ken. They were married in 1966 and so began a lifelong love story. They settled in Brandon and raised two daughters.
When her girls reached school age, she returned to the work force where she touched the lives of many families in her roles at Preschool Enrichment Program, and later at the Family Resource Centre working with newcomer moms. Peggy found this to be very gratifying and always loved running into former students and families.
After retirement Peggy and Ken enjoyed many years travelling, camping, golfing, boating and fishing and entertaining family and friends.
Peggy loved cooking, gardening, sewing, scrapbooking and crafting. She cherished the many close friendships made through bridge club, book club, camping at Duck Mountains, and Ken’s musical career and curling. She was also especially close with Kathy Knight and Thelma and Doug Chudley.
Family meant everything to Peggy, and she is terribly missed by husband Ken; daughters Laurie and Tracie and their partners Jim and Tom; grandchildren Gabriel (Lindsay), Sophie (Drew), and Lily.
The family will cherish Peggy’s memory privately.
If friends so wish, donations in memory of Peggy may be made to the charity of their choice.
