Peter passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at the age of 63 years. Peter is lovingly remembered by his parents Annelise and Gunther Kronen, sister, Annette (Brent, Emily, Elizabeth) Gustafson and brother, Andreas (Kerstin, Kevin), daughters Sabrina and Nicole (Dave), grandchildren Riley, Wendy, Wyatt, Calvin, Johnny, Emma, and Celeste, and fur grand babies, Tikka and Mauser. Peter was predeceased by his sister Sabine.
Peter loved his family and his job at Koch (most of the time). He was a hopeless romantic, he always said “Ahh, love…ain’t it beautiful, when I grow up I’ll buy two lbs” and would shed a tear every time he watched Snow White or any Hallmark movie. Peter would bend over backwards to do whatever he could to help his family. He was a man of many talents, building playhouses for his children, renovating his homes, building decks and model trains. Summers were spent visiting with family and camping in Jasper, Banff, Kimberly and Miette Hot Springs, roasting marshmallows for “smorgs” as he called them, gazing at the stars and looking for satellites. His grandchildren had Opa wrapped around their fingers. Emma always stole his sandwiches and Johnny would snuggle his way under his covers just to lay beside him while he watched his shows. Opa couldn’t resist them. He also had a soft spot for his fur grand babies. Tikka used to whine at the bathroom door to make him turn on the lights and flush the toilet so he could have a drink. Mauser would come and rest his face on his tummy to get some love and attention and the last bite of whatever he was eating at the time. Peter loved watching his grandkids grow up and was excited when Calvin decided to become a millwright.
A Celebration of Peter’s life will be held at Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
