Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I am so sorry to read about Evan’s passing. Evan was my cousin. Though we didn’t see each other often, when we did it was always enjoyable. I am sure he will be missed very much by those he was close to. condolences to my wonderful cousin Mary on her loss. Love Margie - Posted by: Margie (Cousin) on: Dec 31, 2024

  • My condolences from the extended Humphreys family. So many wonderful memories of the Mackenzie family. Patti Humphreys Duncan. - Posted by: Patricia Humphreys Duncan (Lanark Street neighbour) on: Jan 02, 2024

  • It has been years since I have seen Evan, probably when my mother was still alive and at a family gathering, maybe even her 90th Birthday. I did hear from my brother Randy and Bev that Evan was in a retirement home in west Wpg. My youngest memories are of Evan owning a green Thunderbird, maybe 59 or 60, and seeing it at Lanark Ave, wow it was beautiful. I also remember him as being a very kind person, soft spoken and was always smiling. He certainly lived a long life and I hope he didn't suffer in his later years. He was a class act, much like his Father, Uncle Bill MacKenzie. Herb J. Tyler Ottawa, ON - Posted by: Herb J. Tyler ( Cousin ) on: Dec 31, 2023

  • Uncle Evan was a wonderful, kind man with a caring, generous, loyal heart. He didn't have a mean bone in his body or ever a negative thing to say. He was sharp as a tack and had quite a sense of humor. I owe my career at Bell MTS to him in part, and love that bond we shared. I cherished our bi-weekly visits, and weekly calls, and feel a void with his passing that won't be filled by anyone else. I'm grateful for his last Birthday and Christmas we shared together. He was with it right up to and including that very last Christmas evening where we shared Christmas cracker jokes, took selfies together at the table and enjoyed lots of delicious turkey, fixings and cheesecake (prepared with love from his sister whom he loved very much). Will miss Uncle Evan immensely, though I'm glad for him to be with his beloved wife Irene now. Until we meet again Uncle Evan. Love always, Sandra. - Posted by: Sandra (Niece) on: Dec 30, 2023
