Pamela Koschinsky, after a life filled with love of family and friends, passed away on December 26, 2023, at the age of 81.
Pamela was predeceased by parents Marj and Gerry Dundas, husband Tony Braun (1980), husband Art Dahl (1991), and brother Dick Dundas. Pamela will be deeply missed by husband Maurice Koschinsky, daughter Leslie (Braun) Degelman (Scott) and their children Grace and Anthony, daughter Hilary (Braun) Thompson (Kevin) and their children Anton and Jeremy, brother Jim Dundas (Colleen) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pamela was born and raised in Pelly, Saskatchewan, where she attended grade school before moving to Victoria to finish high school. She remained in Victoria to complete her nurses training at St. Joseph's Hospital. While in Victoria, she developed lifelong ties with her dear aunts, uncles and cousins. In 1964, Pam returned to Saskatchewan to work at the Regina General Hospital at which time she fell in love and soon after married Tony Braun. Together, Pam and Tony lovingly raised their girls. She was a devoted, loving mother and adoring grandmother; family was her greatest joy and source of pride. It was also during these years that Pam forged a longtime passion for playing bridge. She and Tony were actively involved in the Regina Bridge Club, both achieving the status of Life Master. Her family holds dearly the memories of vacations where countless laughs and good times were shared. Pam was an avid sports enthusiast and rarely missed a televised tennis grand slam match or curling championship. She also enjoyed many CFL games.
Using her nursing background, Pam was a Workers' Advocate for the Government of Saskatchewan, channeling her energy and feisty personality toward helping injured employees receive fair compensation. In 1996, Pam moved to Brandon, Manitoba, to marry her beloved Maurice and begin a new chapter of her life, one in which she made very dear friends. Pam took great pleasure in throwing annual parties to celebrate Maurice's birthday and Christmas with their wonderful neighbours.
Pamela was loved by so many people from the various facets of her life; she was fervently committed to maintaining those special relationships, notably her fellow "Pellyites". She was exceedingly generous with family, friends and those in need. Pam will be remembered for her intense love for her family and dear friends, her sharp intellect, incredible memory and passion for justice.
In memory of Pam, donations can be made to a charity of one's choosing.
A celebration of Pam's life and interment will take place in Regina in the spring.
