Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEONARD FUNK
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father and grandfather Leonard Funk on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
Leonard was born on September 9,1952 in Steinbach, Manitoba. He did his schooling in New Bothwell and Steinbach.
He was predeceased by his mother; Helen, father; Jacob, brother; Edwin and sister; Rose.
At the young age of 17, he left home for Winnipeg. Leonard worked tirelessly for the Chrysler dealership for 55 years until his passing. First under Ike Vickar, then Bernie Clement and presently Jared Lang. This wasn’t just a job to Leonard; it was his everything. The people he worked with were all his friends. He loved each and every one of them. Leonard dabbled with skiing in his early days, but his true passion was golf. He loved to golf with anyone that was up for a game. Especially with his sons and longtime golf buddy Lou Edwardsen. Of course, there was always a friendly bet.
Leonard was many things to many people. He touched so many lives as he passed from this one to the next.
To his family he was the wind beneath our wings. He loved us all unconditionally and leaves to mourn his loving wife Carolyn, sons; Kristopher (Lea) and Mitchell (Kayla), two precious grandchildren; Weston and Ty, brothers; Harry (Pat), Edward (Marilyn), Peter (Janine), sisters; Alvina, Norma (Walter), sisters-in-law; Evelyn, Lori (Merv), Judy and literally hundreds if not thousands of family, friends and customers.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honour at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at the Winnipeg Evangelical Free Church at 500 Lagimodiere Blvd, Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, we would ask for a donation to the charity of your choice.
