Yvonne passed away peacefully on Friday, December 29, 2023, at the age of 87 years.
She was predeceased by her late husband Frank, in 1990. Her son Dean in 2019, her son in law James in 2019, as well as her close sister Audrey in 2018. She is survived by her partner, Richard Rowden, her daughter Cindy (Ted), daughter Cheryl, daughter Caren, son Darryl (Cheryl), nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Mom was born on August 5, 1936, in Swan River, Manitoba. At an early age, she moved with her family to Winnipeg. Following her graduation from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate, she worked evenings at the Bay for many years.
She married our dad, Frank Martin in 1956 and together, they raised 5 children. After dad’s passing in 1990, mom pursued her interest in real estate by obtaining her Real Estate License. Following her time in real estate, mom worked at Canadian Wholesale until retirement.
Mom enjoyed her grandchildren, playing games of Rummoli with them and hearing of their adventures and accomplishments. Her past times included playing Bingo, playing card games and watching figure skating. In later years, she enjoyed trying her luck at the Casino.
Mom also had a soft spot for her cocker spaniels, first Max and then Murphy.
Respecting mom’s wishes, a graveside Service and Interment, have taken place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
