SUSAN JOAN MCCULLOCH
With her family at her side, Susan passed away at Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
She will be remembered for her love of her sons, Kent, and Bruce (beloved daughter-in-law Megan), and granddaughters Meredith and Gweneth. She is also survived by her nephew Jim Oswald (Lizann) and their family, Karen Cooke (Elliott) and daughter Zoey, Sara, and Erich. She is predeceased by her husband Rod, parents Henry Strain and Lottie Muller (Gus), sister and brother-in-law Ruth and Kurt Oswald, and nephew Kevin Oswald.
Susan loved her friends dearly and they were always there for each other. Throughout her multiple battles with cancer, the strength of these relationships sustained her and was evident. Deep gratitude is extended to Susan’s friends who loved and supported her through the very end.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Manon Pelletier and the amazing staff of Unit GB-2B at Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg who provided compassionate care to Susan in her final days. We truly appreciate the kindness shown by the entire Health Science Centre team to Susan and to us, especially over Christmas.
In accordance with Susan’s wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada or the Health Sciences Centre Foundation.

I just learned today of Susan's death: I was wondering why she stopped answering my e-mails, now I know, Susan worked with me at the Hudson's Bay Company Central Region Distribution Centre in Winnipeg...back when the HBC was still a respected Canadian Company...When CRDC closed, some thirty years ago we all felt the loss ,as it was a great place to work and we had many friends, Susan was one of them. Susan, Carol Mitchell, Larry Zarychanski and I met yearly for lunch for about ten years but ...gradually that stopped. One of my last e-mails from Susan was about the 30 year anniversary of the closing of C.R.D.C. Now both Susan and Larry are gone..and CRDC is now just a memory....Susan, Carol and Larry all helped me many times...and Susan was always there when I needed advice. I will miss her... Susan was one of my clients when I was a Travel Agent. I had cruised with her a few times and became good friends…,I’ll miss our lunches and travel talks. It was a pleasure knowing her and I’m glad I had the opportunity to be a good friend, May she rest in peace.,,, - Posted by: Bev Harbour (Friend) on: Jan 07, 2024

My sympathy to Susan's family. Worked with Susan years ago but lost contact over the years. I have good memories of our time together. Susan will be missed. - Posted by: Doreen Buss (Co-worker) on: Jan 06, 2024
