Surrounded by family, Mom passed away peacefully.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Neil, of 52 years, her son-in-law John Spillett, parents, Bud and Mary Van Wynsberghe, sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Gabe Maes, brother-in-law, John Overwater and numerous family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Bernie Spillett, Joyce (Greg) Robinson, Janet (Dave) Cheetham, Pat (Dave) Johnson, Diane (Bruce) Jenkins, 11 grandchildren, Kevin (Andrea) Spillett, Tammy (Blake) Anderson, Mark (Char) Robinson, Courtney (Dave) Kindrat, Kristi Cheetham, Mandy Cheetham, Jeremy (Tonia) Cheetham, Stephanie (Andrew) Hodgson, Terry (Janine) Johnson, Lisa (Paul) Harty, Katie (Matt) Murray, 17 great-grandchildren, sister, Alice Overwater and brother, Gerry (Lorraine) Van Wynsberghe.
Mom grew up on a dairy farm in Tuxedo. In 1951, Mom and Dad married and began farming with her sister, Alice and brother-in-law John. She enjoyed Belgium bowling, wood crafting with Dad, knitting and winter vacations in Apache Junction, Arizona. Mom loved spending time with family. Being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren always brought a big smile to her face.
The family would like to thank Mom's good friend, Maureen Streick and the wonderful staff at West Park Manor for their care and compassion.
A celebration of Mom's life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Saturday, January 13 at 10:00 a.m.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in Mom's memory to a charity of your choice.
