Suddenly, on Thursday, January 11, 2024, Thomas Frank Mozdzen, 71 passed away. Tom’s remarkable life and unforgettable personality will be memorialized on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Gimli Lakeview Hotel in Gimli, Manitoba.
Tom leaves to mourn his wife of almost 49 years, Karen; four children, Mathew (Jennifer), Ian (Jorge), Shauna, and Kirby (Aaron); six grandchildren, Jillian, Christian, Victoria, Slayde, Aliya, and Sienna; siblings, Roy, Bob, Marie, Jean and Margaret; mother-in-law Elmeria, siblings-in-law, Tracy, Darlene and David; with many other relatives; and countless friends wherever in the world Tom went.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Dorothy, brother Ernie and father-in-law David Roberts.
Tom was born December 17, 1952, in McCreary, Manitoba and his family moved to a farm in Stonewall when he was young. Tom contributed to the growth of the family farm, graduated from high school in Stonewall, worked for various companies, and received an Agricultural Diploma from the University of Manitoba in 1976.
Tom was a force of nature, and raised up an immense farm operation over the course of four decades with Karen and their children. Tom was never shy to strike up a conversation and could win over anyone, anywhere at anytime with his charm, bold authenticity and playful sense of humour.
A jack-of-all trades, Tom could build, repair, modify or maintain anything in the house and in the shop. Tom’s final creation was a GORGEOUS backyard sandy beach into the waters of Lake Winnipeg at the home he shared with his devoted wife, Karen.
Tom was passionate about family, especially his six wonderful grandchildren who he spent immense time with being the best Papa. He loved visiting people and places, exchanging ideas, learning new things, cutting good deals and spreading his singular kind of joy everywhere he went.
Tom also forged a strong bond with nature over the course of his all-too-short life; Tom was experienced in agriculture, hunting and fishing and had recently discovered the beauty of kayaking.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Gimli Lakeview Resort.
Tom will be missed immensely.

Karen I am so very sorry to hear of Tom’s passing. He was such a larger than life personality always cracking a joke and smiling. He loved to stop me on the street with a story of his latest adventure or deal he managed to get. I’m so saddened that his life has been cut so short. My sincere condolences for you and your family. - Posted by: Ingrid Bennett (Realtor friend ) on: Jan 17, 2024
