It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Sukaroff, who passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024, in Brandon, Manitoba.
Dave leaves behind a legacy of hard work, community involvement, and cherished memories.
His academic journey began at Earl Oxford and continued at Vincent Massey and Brandon College. Dedication to his community started at a young age, delivering papers for the Winnipeg Tribune, eventually earning a trip to Disneyland, at the age of 12, for the most starts in the Tribune.
Work continued at Frank's Texaco and later Dave managed College Texaco, a venture he and his brother became widely recognized for in the Brandon community. His journey continued as he took charge of the Texaco Bulk Plant, later transitioning to Esso. Subsequently, Dave lent his skills to Wheat City Body Shop, Central Auto Shop, MIS, and found joy as a driver for the Air Shuttle Bus.
Dave participated in both five and 10-pin bowling teams and sponsored curling bonspiels for local farmers associated with the bulk station. In 1978, he built a cabin at Grey Owl, creating lasting memories with family and friends. He transformed his garage into a party room with a pool table, hosting countless gatherings filled with laughter and camaraderie.
Predeceased by his parents, Paul and Vicki, and brother, Jim, Dave is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Jean, and his two sons; Tony (Candice) and Dan (Alexis); and grandsons, Hayden and Barron, were his biggest fans. He is also remembered fondly by his siblings Joanne, Shirley (Wayne), Marilyn (Glenn), and Vicki (Jim), along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will cherish Dave’s memory privately. Flowers are respectfully declined.
