Peacefully on the morning of January 16, 2024 our mom, grandma and aunty passed away at The Riverview Health Centre
Hilda was born in Eriksdale, Manitoba on April 11, 1932.
Mom resided on Peonan Point with her parents and sister Verna until she reached school age and then the family moved to Steep Rock Manitoba. She then moved to Winnipeg and went to work in the groceries at Eatons until she married Hughie Cooper in 1958 and returned to Steep Rock. With Hughie’s passing in 1970 she moved back to Winnipeg with her son Donald and returned to work at Eaton’s and then the smoke shop at Woolco until retirement. In 1978 she married Peter Grimwood and her family grew by two daughters, Dawn and Susan. Hilda enjoyed cooking, cleaning, talking on the phone and hosting family dinners.
Hilda is survived by her son Donald, daughters Susan, and Dawn (Phil), her nephew Bryan Goods (Diana), nieces Debbie (Anton) and Cheryl (Lorne), her grandchildren Peter, Jackie (Matt) Sabrina, Brian and great-grandchildren.
Hilda was predeceased by her parents Louis and Mary Soli, husbands Hugh Cooper and Peter Grimwood, and her sister Verna.
Cremation has taken place and a family gathering will take place at a later date.
