RITA HETTIG
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Omi, mom, sister, aunt, and friend, Rita Hettig, on January 21, 2024, at Pembina Place.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave.
A Celebration of Life service to follow in April - please contact csalstad@shaw.ca for more info.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.

Rita and I lived a few houses away on Southbourne for many years. We initially socialized as couples. There was lots to admire about Rita: her sense of style, her hearty laugh, her self-reliance, and her competence in managing her personal and community life. But above all, I will remember Rita for the care and help she provided her daughters, their husbands and her grandchildren. Rita and I taught side by side for about 18 years. Having a colleague like Rita made going to work a pleasure. Our days were filled with fun and laughter.
