With great sadness the family announces the passing of Florence Selina Squires, (known as Flo) on January 18, 2024. With great joy, Flo is longing for a place familiar, but never been to; we call this Heaven.
Born on December 17, 1942 in Wabana, Bell Island, NFLD. She was predeceased by her parents, Albert Joseph and Florences Miller Squires, a baby sister Loraine, a brother Joseph, and a sister Dorthy.
Left to cherish her precious memory includes her dear partner and love of 24 years, Kevin Power; her siblings, Edna Phelan (Burt) of St John’s, NFLD, Albert Squires (Pam) of Cambridge, Ontario, Donald Squires (Claudine) of Wabana, Bell Island, NFLD, and Violet Madelind Lynch (Gerald) of Cambridge, Ontario; her dear children Richard Brown Jr (Jennifer) of Christiansburg, Virginia, Lisa Damon (Richard) of Ashland, Kentucky, Barbara Brown-Clark (Ron) of Ashland, Kentucky and Roger Brown (Kate) of Ashland, Kentucky. A fiercely loving woman she excelled at taking care of people and her door was always open to anyone who needed an ear or a meal. She loved to travel, sing, dance, cook, meet and make friends from all walks of life.
One of her favorite sayings was "go with the flo".
If I had a friend on this earth, I would Pray for it to be you.
