LORNA ALICE ROSE LANG

April 10, 1939 - January 20, 2024


Lorna Lang, age 84 years, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the Brandon Regional Health Centre.



Lorna will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Brenda (Gordon) Cote; grandsons, Russel (Jessica) and Eric (Alecia) Sisson and her great-grandchildren: Ella, Keeyan, Hadley, Dane, Aria, Braylee and Braxton.



She also leaves behind her sister-in-law and great friend, Joan Gates, daughter-in law, Brenda Newman, as well as her nieces and nephews: Paul, Scott, Sandy, Melissa, Aaron, David, Mike, Ian and Allison.



Lorna was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Doris Gates, her beloved son, Danny Lang, brothers: Bill, Jim (Peg), Don, Rick (Colleen), and sister Carol.



Lorna graduated high school in Carberry, Manitoba and went on to take her training as a registered psychiatric nurse at the Brandon Mental Health Center. She touched the lives of many with compassion and dignity through the course of her career.



Lorna had a love for baseball and played and pitched for a women's fastball team, she also played in the mixed softball league in Brandon with her family team and for many years they hosted the annual softball tournament in September at the Brandon Mental Health Center ball diamonds, later known as the Danny Lang Memorial Tournament with proceeds being donated to the Big Brothers & Big Sisters Association of Brandon. After retiring from baseball, she took up golfing and could often be found at the Sunnyside golf course with her sister Carol. After retiring from golf, she looked forward to her Bridge games with the ladies from the Lions Manor.

You will be so dearly missed Mom, Grandma, GiGi, Aunty.

A private graveside service will take place at a later date.

I would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the ER department and the nurses on 400 at the Brandon Hospital for the exceptional, compassionate care provided to my mom on January 19 and 20. - Brenda Cote
