Peacefully, on Friday January 12, 2024 at the St. Boniface Hospital Edmond Avanthay passed away at the age of 81 years.
Edmond is survived by his sisters Cecile McDougall and Leah Murray, brother Gerard (Louise) and their families.
Cremation had taken place and a private family interment has taken place in Green Acres Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a donation in Edmond’s name may be made to a charity of your choice.

To his family and friends, I’m sorry for your loss. I met Ed at Manitoba Hydro. In the early years we played on the same baseball team. The Pirates were a tight knit mixed team and we had a lot of fun and even a few wins. I remember Ed being a great teammate who loved to laugh at the antics and help us win a few. Ed took pride in his job too. He worked hard and was always there to help a colleague. He was a kind listening ear to many who needed it. I’m sorry to have lost touch following retirement. I’ve been going through some of the pictures from those years. We were like a big extended family to each other in so many ways and Ed was a big brother to many. Thanks for the good memories Ed.
