Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBILL (WILL) SCOTT
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandpa, papa, brother and uncle who passed away January 21, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
He leaves to mourn his wife Penny, of 52 years, daughters, Shannon (Rob), Kathleen (Colin), grandchildren, McKynzie, Emily, Oliver, Connor and Ivy. Also left to mourn are his sisters, Lynda (Tito), Sandy, brothers, Wayne, Robin (Gail), sisters-in-law, Colleen (Harvey), Phyllis (Roger), nieces, nephews, SoCal family, good friends, Al and Heather and Andrew.
Will was a very hard working person with a passion for sports. This led him to coaching many youth bowlers as well as his daughters in the YBC program at Roxy Lanes for over 20 years. He was also a part of the Master’s Teaching Division where he competed and coached at a national level. In addition, he coached several girls’ youth softball teams at Bronx Park and Gateway Community Clubs and was proud to volunteer at the 1990 Western Canada Summer Games. What brought great joy to him was being a mentor and supporter to everything his grandchildren were involved in.
After retirement Will’s love of music led him to Mar-Schell’s Music School where he pursued drum lessons. He quickly met fellow musicians who got together and formed a band called the Rusty Nails. They had many wonderful mic nights and performances together. Will went on to learn how to play keyboard, guitar, harmonica, bongos and enjoyed sharing his music with family and friends.
Will, your kindness and strength inspire us to be better every day. You will always be remembered for the love you have for your family now and forever.
The family would like to thank Dr. Jared Davies and Dr. Carly Jill Scramstad for their continual care. A special thank you to the doctors and staff of the 5th Floor North at Victoria Hospital especially Dr. Jeanne Young, Matt, Sofiya and the wonderful staff for their excellent care and compassion shown to Will during his stay.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Will’s memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba Donate Now - General Gift - Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation, Cardiac Equipment Ph: 204.237.2067 or https://stbhf.ca/en/

Bill was a good guy ! I enjoyed our chats about drums. He always had a smile on his face when he came to Mar-Schell's. It was great to see him play with the "Rusty Nails". Drum on and make some thunder in the great beyond.... - Posted by: Dan Scaletta (Friend) on: Feb 12, 2025

We were sorry to learn of Will’s passing. We didn’t know Will when he was coaching and mentoring bowlers and baseball players but we are sure his soft spoken and patient personality made him a good fit in those areas. Sorry we didn’t get the opportunity to hear Will and the Rusty Nails perform.“ If THERE EVER COMES A DAY WHEN WE CAN’T BE TOGETHER, KEEP ME IN YOUR HEART; I’LL STAY THERE FOREVER”.—- A.A.
