On Sunday, January 28, Ernie passed away peacefully into the presence of his Lord at the age of 77.
He will be deeply missed by his three children: Melinda (Ross); Marni (Rob); Philip; and their mother, Louise; and by his five grandchildren: Eric, Avery; Taylia (Austin), Megan (Sam), Anika.
Funeral will be held on Monday, February 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Mennonite Brethren Church, 145 Henderson Hwy., Winnipeg.

I’m lost, to hear the news of Ernie’s passing. I have many memories that will remain in my heart for as long as I can remember. To be given the privilege to have taken care of Ernie for 6 years was a gift. As a former caregiver, I’m grateful for the time I was able to spend with him including football/hockey games, running to him every time there was a touchdown or shot in net. Dancing to get him smiling or laughing uncontrollably, both of us admiring the love for chocolate, communicating the tough times he’s had to deal with etc. I miss you, our friendship was and forever will be cherished.
