Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE MACDONALD
After a short time in hospital, George went home where he passed away in his sleep.
Age took his hearing and dementia took his memory, but he always remembered his two sons, Grant and Todd (Lisa). He was predeceased by his wife Yvonne in 2004.
George was born in Makinak, Manitoba and worked for the CBC. He loved animals, especially horses and dogs.
Special thanks to Dr. Haman and the rest of the staff on 2 South at the Grace Hospital who provided excellent care. A special thanks to the 6th floor nurse Hazel at Beacon Hill Lodge, who provided exceptional care for the past five and a half years he resided there.
As per George’s wishes, there will be no service.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to an animal charity of your choice.

Dear Todd, Lisa and Grant: Please accept my sincere condolences in the loss of your dear Father, George. I recall many fond memories when we would get together for a meal or even to visit. George was so active in life and loved his horses and dogs. May he RIP. Jill Greenwood - Posted by: JILL GREENWOOD (Friend of the MacDonald's) on: Feb 05, 2024

I would like to offer my sincere condolences to Grant and Todd on the loss of your father. I remember growing up together on Ferry Road a few doors away from each other. Todd was always special to me because he was born on my birthday. Our fathers were friends and and the families always got together. George had his horses and "Mac Consel." The horse I remember watching at the track with the families. Even after The families moved, I bumped into Yvonne walking her cat and chatted about everything and anything. Later, I would bump into George walking his neighbors dog all over St. James. As life goes on and people grow apart there are certain people that you will always remember because because they are that special and that was George and Yvonne . May they rest in paradise . - Posted by: nancy rosjer (friend) on: Feb 04, 2024
