I was saddened to hear of Doris’ death. My Mom (Irene Reith) and I met Doris when they both lived at the Wellington. Mom enjoyed meeting new people when she moved there, and one of the most welcoming was Doris; Mom thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her. They were both sharp as tacks and had many things in common. As Mom became more frail, she moved from the third floor to the main floor — right next door to Doris… true serendipity! Doris was incredibly kind to Mom; her generosity and kind-heartedness, not to mention her spunk and joie de vivre touched and inspired us both. She was an amazing woman. I know she will missed deeply by all who knew her, especially her family. Please accept my sincere condolences. - Posted by: Linda Johnson (Acquaintance ) on: Aug 14, 2024

I believe Doris is the last of her generation on the Bemi family line. Her Mother was my great Auntie Maud, sister to my Grandma Edith. I recall lots of laughter when your family visited ours in Vancouver, around 1970. So very blessed to have reconnected with her through her daughter, Maureen, so many years later. In reading the words of her life, Doris sounds like she lived life positively and savoured good times, a life well lived. Well done. Sending you peace, Maureen and Fraser, as you navigate through this tough time. My heart is with you.❤️ - Posted by: Valerie Archer (Daughter of Doris first cousin, Roy Archer) on: Feb 19, 2024
