RUSSELL GORDON THOMPSON

With family at his side, Russ passed away peacefully at Deer Lodge Centre February 5, 2024 at the age of 85 years.

He will be lovingly remembered always by his three children, Kevin, Jennifer and Colleen (Dan) as well many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Russ was predeceased by his loving wife Margaret of 59 years; his mother Helen and father George, and his four big brothers, Laurie, Jim, Chuck and Don.

Dad was born in St. Boniface on September 4, 1938 and grew up in Norwood. He married the love of his life Margaret on May 16, 1964. Shortly thereafter, he began his successful career as Branch Manager for EM Plastics until retirement.

Russ loved his sports. He'd never miss watching the Bombers, Jets and the Blue Jays games on the tube. Dad loved vacations to Florida with Mom, curling at Assiniboine Community Centre and fun bonspiels where him and Mom made many close friendships. He also enjoyed the odd golf game but his favourite place to be was the family cottage at White Lake. He had a love for fishing, hunting and of course, lawn darts with so many memories of neighbours, family and friends tippin' back a few cocktails and dancing to "hurtin' music" as he called it!

Our family would like to thank all the staff at Deer Lodge 4 West for your care and compassion for our father.

Cremation has taken place and a private gathering will be held at a later date.

Rest easy Dad. You are now at peace

and reunited with Mom again!!

We love you always and forever.
