ELEANOR HELEN JARVIS

May 24, 1927 - February 10, 2024

It is with great sorrow, that the family announces the peaceful passing of Eleanor Jarvis, in her 97th year, on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Concordia Place Personal Care Home

Auntie El, will be lovingly remembered by niece Dawn Molyneux and family, nephew Ed Allman (Sharon) and family.

Eleanor was predeceased by husband, Arthur (Bud) Jarvis, her sister, Lillian Molyneux, brother-in-law Lawrence (Bill) Molyneux, nephew Clive Molyneux, sister-in-law Alberta Allman, brother-in-law Horace Allman and niece Bernice Allen (Allman).

Eleanor arrived in Canada from Germany as a young child. She spent her childhood growing up in Winnipeg’s north end. When she was old enough, she worked as a bookkeeper in her father’s bakery (Northwest Bakery). She also worked briefly for Eaton’s and Muttart Homes.

Eleanor met Bud at Grand Beach after the end of the Second World War. They were married in 1948, and spent 62 wonderful years together. Eleanor had an artistic talent for painting and produced many beautiful landscapes and seascapes. She also loved her conversations with family and friends. She was a great listener. In their retirement years, she and Bud enjoyed many trips to Sarasota, Florida and Brownsville, Texas visiting with old friends and making new ones along the way.

The family are very grateful to the staff on the 3rd floor of Concordia Place for their loving care of auntie Eleanor during her years with them.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. Flowers are gratefully declined. If you wish, a donation in Eleanor’s memory, may be made to a charity of your choice.

“Though her smile is gone forever, and her hand we cannot touch, we have so many memories of the one we loved so much.”
