CYNTHIA LEE ATKINS

(LELLIOTT)

It is with great sadness that the family announce the peaceful passing of Cynthia on February 7, 2024.

Cynthia will be remembered as a loving mother to her son Curtis Atkins (Dawn Good), grandmother to Elizabeth and Victoria, sister to Martin Lelliott (Carri) and Kristine Searle (Norm), aunt to Keith and Eric Lelliott, Tanis Hallady (Curtis), Tawna Searle (Lorne) and great-aunt to Callum, Grady and Rheanne Hallady

Born in Winnipeg October 13, 1959, and raised by her parents, Alferd and Eva Lelliott (Strobel). Cynthia's family grew up in a small home on Munroe Avenue.

Cynthia took employment in the grain industry straight out of high school and later graduated from the Certified Management Accounting program at U of M. After many years working as an accountant, Cynthia retired and lent a helping hand at her friend’s flower shop (Sonya's Flowers), the Lubov SSMI Foundation, Holy Family Home and took care of the books for her son's business (Exterior Pros Winnipeg). Cynthia had a seat on the board for Manitoba Prairie Quilters and was also very active in her local McIvor Quilt group.

Cynthia enjoyed travelling, including many trips overseas and spoke highly of her time in the Mediterranean. Cynthia enjoyed playing with her granddaughters, gardening, quilting, sewing, cross-stitching, reading books, building puzzles and working on her Ancestry family tree. She spent a lot of time at the family cottage in White Mud Falls, where her and her family would relax, play cards and enjoy the outdoors.

Cynthia was a selfless friend and family member; she will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the coming months, anyone that would like to attend can send an email to Curtis at curtis_atkins@hotmail.com
