Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySANDRA L. OTTENBREIT
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sandra Ottenbreit on Monday, February 19, 2024.
Sandra was born in Teulon on May 16, 1942. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Richard; mother Dorothy and father Lewis Munro; her brothers, Hugh and Rody Munro; her mother-in-law and father-in-law Mary and Anton Ottenbreit; and, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Phyllis and Wally Oneschuk.
Sandra leaves behind daughters, Kimberly (Rick) and Kerilee (Paul), brother Ian (Lorna), brothers-in-law, Ernie (Marge) and Leonard (Kim), step-grandsons, Jared and Colin, her nieces and nephews, their families, and many dear friends.
She treasured her family and friends. She was brave, resilient, independent, and hard-working. She was talented, gracious, optimistic, thoughtful, and generous. Everyone she met was treated with respect and warmth. It didn’t matter where she was, before long a stranger became a friend.
Sandra was very musical and proficiently played the accordion and the piano. She was a great cook and baker, with the meals she prepared for family and friends beyond comparison. She enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens. Her flower pot arrangements were a canopy of colour. She loved animals, with an especially soft spot in her heart for dogs. She was an avid fan of curling, having played the sport herself for many years. She enjoyed day trips, particularly times spent at Lake Winnipeg near Matlock where her mother grew up. Her most memorable travel experience was a tour of Scotland.
Sandy spent her early working years at Perth's, with the majority of her career at Penner Foods as a cashier and front-end order clerk.
She was a wonderful lady. Her dancing blue eyes and kind soul drew everyone to her. Beautiful inside and out, memories of her will be cherished.
In keeping with Sandra’s wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no formal service and interment will be at Glen Eden.
Donations can be made in Sandra’s memory to the Vascular Research Fund (Dr. Randy Guzman), St. Boniface Hospital Foundation, C1026-409 Tache Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6 or online at bealifeline.ca

Knew Sandra in the mid 60’s when her Mom taught school in Sand Hill, Manitoba. Our mothers shared a friendship as we lived across the road from each other. Sandra’s Mom, Dorothy taught grades one to eight at the Sand Hill School. Her brother Ian and I attended Beausejour Collegiate together riding to school with Charlie who drove us there. It was a close knit neighborhood. I have good memories of the Munro family. Sincere condolences to Sandra's children and of course, to her brother Ian. May all your good memories help you through this sad time. - Posted by: Kathy Krawchuk Fecio (Long ago neighbours ) on: Feb 24, 2024

So sorry to hear of the loss of my cousin and your mother. I talked to her in October after the loss of my sister, Becky. May she rest in peace, Jean Faryna. - Posted by: Jean faryna (Bjornson) (First cousin) on: Feb 24, 2024
