CHARLES MURRAY LOWDEN

It is with great sorrow we say our final good-bye to our brother, uncle, father, grandfather and friend Charles Murray Lowden. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Stella, and sisters Roberta and Beverley. He is survived by his two sons Cameron (Laura) and Christopher, and four grandchildren (Elise, Nadine, Zachary and Mackenzie).

Murray lived his entire life in Manitoba, mostly in Winnipeg. Work for him began at an early age first fixing combines for Versatile then as an Auto Mechanic at Canadian Tire when it was located at the corner of Pembina and McGillivray. It was at that location he was spotted by an executive and offered a job with the Ford Motor Company of Canada. He accepted and changed his overalls for a suit. He worked for Ford for over 25 years until his retirement.

Murray was dealt a devastating blow to his health in his late 50’s when he had a stroke. Through perseverance and fortitude, despite the physical deficits, he managed to live an independent and fulfilling life.

In his later years he was close with family and his grandchildren became the focus of his attention.

He raged against the dying of the light and his family will be forever grateful.
