CARL ESPERSEN
With heavy hearts, we announce Carl’s passing on February 22, 2024.
He will be forever missed by his wife Shirley of 70 years, daughters: Linda (Bruce), Noreen (Ken), Karen, Joanne (Stan), Darlene (Terry), 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents John and Elsa Espersen, brother Johnny and sister Maria.
In tears we saw you sinking,
we watched you fade away.
You suffered much in silence,
you fought so hard to stay.
You faced your task with courage,
your spirit did not bend,
but still you kept on fighting,
until the very end.
So when we saw you sleeping,
so peaceful and free from pain,
we could not wish you back,
to suffer that again.
Dad was a real people person. He loved to chat with everyone. His greatest passion was playing the guitar. He was a proud member of the Traverse Bay Old Timers band, which was formed later in life.
Special thanks to the St. Boniface Palliative Care unit for their exceptional care.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral service at this time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
