On the evening of March 2, 2024, John Dyck, beloved Husband, Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 90, surrounded by his loving family.
Dad was born on March 10, 1933, on a farm south of Altona. Dad was the third of eight children born to Jacob Dyck and Margaretha Toews. Dad grew up in Altona.
Dad married Ann Penner of Lowe Farm in 1957; together they had four children: Robert (Bobby), Barry, Murray, and Michelle. They made a life together in Lowe Farm and moved to Winnipeg in 1990. Dad drove truck for 57 years, most of them with Reimer Express Line, and retired in 2011. In his retirement he spent his time riding bike, going for coffee with mom every day and spending time with his family who he loved dearly.
Dad was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Margaretha; siblings, Diedrich, Helen, Mary, Jake and Susan, and his first-born son Robert (Bobby).
Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 66 years, Ann; his children, Barry (Elva), Murray (Connie), and Michelle (Garland Hooge); his grandchildren, Jared (Danielle Stuart), Colin, Jasmine (Cole Brunet), Mackenzie (Darrel Nadeau), Brendan (Nikki), Shane, Dylan, and Jordyn; his great-grandchildren, Warner and Renna (Jasmine and Cole), all of whom he was extremely proud of.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd, Winnipeg, MB. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Whyte Ridge Baptist Church, 2405 McGillivray Blvd.
A private family burial will take place at Lowe Farm Cemetery.

I remember vividly the fond memories of being neighbours with the family for many years. It was a very special time, having cousins to play with and visit with.
