It is with great sadness and with her family by her side, we announce the passing of beloved wife, sister, aunt and friend, Marlene Vande Velde on February 25, 2024.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Curtis, her mother Dallas, father John, brother Craig, and sister Connie.
Marlene is survived by her loving family, Shannon, Kevin, Dallas, Pat, Sami, Katie, and Emma.
Marlene retired after 30 years with the Hudson Bay Company as a data clerk.
The family wishes to thank the caring and compassionate staff at the Grace Hospital.
A celebration of Marlene’s life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at Desjardins Funeral Home, 357 Des Meurons St.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB), PO Box 800, STN Main, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9.

Who am I gonna call for our family news. Hi Mar it’s me Bev. Yeah nobody died, just wanted to see how you were doing. I will miss her so much as will so many others. Curt and Marlene belonged to so many different groups, helping many people in life. They both earned thrones in Volunteer Heaven where they will be waited on. Enjoy Mar. you earned this. Special thanks to Marie L., Dallas and the rest of family who were there to help her in life. She spoke highly of all of you. Loving thoughts and prayers from cousin, Beverley Bettens and family.
