MARY GOLEMBIOSKI

(nee DZIOBA)

September 8, 1925 - March 6, 2024

Mary passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at East Gate Lodge Personal Care Home at the age of 98.

She leaves behind her daughter Debbie Shumila (Leslie), son Ian (Irene), son-in-law Greg Babisky (Christine); grandchildren, Karen (Jeff), April (Owen), Jonathon (Tamara), Mila, Lindsey (Mark), Bradley (Stefania), Alexander, Lexi; great-grandchildren, Anthony (Lisa), Michael (Michele), Mercedes (Austin), Shania (Jesse), Lex, Kierra, Brady, Austin, Sofie, and Alessia; great-great-grandchildren, Melody, Mason, and Leo. She treasured her extended family, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and longtime friends.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, Marko and Pauline, brothers, Joe, Harry and Julien, husband John (JP), daughter Melodie, and two children in infancy, Joan and John.

Grandma was a dedicated and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She had a passion for cooking, sewing, baking, and gardening. She farmed alongside her husband JP on the farm near Allegra. She spent endless hours working on the fields, taking care of her chickens, milking cows, preparing meals, all while taking care of her parents, in-laws and raising three children.

Grandma loved all her grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren, she would always brag to her friends about what each of them were doing in life. Grandma was a compassionate, kind, graceful, polite, fun, loving, giving person. She would do anything to help anybody if she knew you or not. In her years in East Gate Lodge, she loved doing the activities in recreation especially BINGO, somehow, she always won and had socks or chocolates to give to April and Kierra. We will miss you grandma tremendously, but we know that your time on earth is done, and you were met at heaven's pearly gates by Dziadziou, Joan, John, and Melodie.

Pallbearers will be Jonathon Babisky, Bradley Shumila, Anthony Smorang, Michael Smorang, Alexander Golembioski, and Brady Babisky.

Thank you to the nurses, health care aides, dietary, and housekeeping staff for the care and compassion while grandma has lived at East Gate.

Funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, March 25 at 10:30 a.m. with viewing one hour prior at the Beausejour Hall in Beausejour, Manitoba.

Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Polish National Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Children’s Hospital, or East Gate Lodge Recreational Department in Mary’s name.
