EUGENIA ROSE ZUSHMAN

(nee SYROTA)

Eugenia Rose Zushman passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 10, 2024.

She is survived by her loving husband Mike, of 58 years, sons, Michael, Ken (Dora), grandson Aidan and several nieces, nephews and cousins who she adored immensely.

Eugenia was a lover of life who enjoyed spending time at the cottage in Buffalo Point and caring for her flowers and vegetable garden. As an avid reader, there was always a novel on the go. A passionate cook, Eugenia found joy in the kitchen cooking for others. Eugenia was a founding charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She was actively involved in organizing many functions to raise money for the FOE and non-profit organizations. She also enjoyed watching her grandson play hockey as often as she was able to. Eugenia’s career spanned over a period of 44 years. She worked within the Faculty of Medicine and subsequently as the executive assistant to the Vice President Academics and Provost at the University of Manitoba.

Eugenia highly cherished her sisters-in-law, Liz Ohlson, Rose Wuttunee, Debbie Zushman and brothers-in-law, Jerry Zushman (Heather) and Russ Zushman (Diane).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
