Brenna Marie Talmage, a beloved daughter, sister, fiancée, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend, passed away surrounded by close family on March 6, 2024, at the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia in Prince George. With a spirit as vibrant as her adventures, she leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Left to mourn her passing are her fiancé, Evan Raugust; father, Rod Talmage; brother, Trey Talmage (Shayna); grandmother, Mary Lou Talmage (Roger); mother and father-in-law, Toni and Rod Raugust; sister-in-law, Brady Raugust; brother-in-law, Eric Raugust (Erika); fur babies, Fiji and Bella; as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, and treasured friends.
She was predeceased by her mother, Roberta Talmage; maternal grandparents, Marguerite and William Kostynuik; paternal grandfather, Dale Talmage; and uncle, Kerry Talmage.
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Brenna grew up in Charleswood surrounded by family and friends. She was always an active child, playing basketball and soccer, often coached by her mother. Brenna spent many summers in her younger years heading out on memory-filled family camping trips throughout Manitoba.
Her educational journey started at École Dieppe School before moving on to Charleswood Junior High and graduating from Oak Park High School. She furthered her studies with a certificate in Business Administration from Red River College. Brenna found professional fulfillment at Wellington-Altus as Manager, Transition, where she was cherished by her colleagues.
After a school trip to Argentina, Brenna’s love for travel was sparked and she soon found herself exploring Europe. Brenna spent several summers in Italy, and later immersed herself in the beauty of Thailand. She also grew a passion for the mountains, a love she gained through her yearly trips to Calgary and British Columbia with her mom, brother, and the Kennedy family.
In 2016, Brenna met Evan, and they began their life together, moving to different apartments in the city before buying their first house in the south end of Winnipeg. In 2022, Brenna and Evan purchased a home in Nelson, BC, and moved to Prince George, BC, a year later.
While living in British Columbia, Brenna spent countless hours on the phone each week with her dad and brother, cherishing every moment of connection. She enjoyed hiking, taking Fiji for daily walks at the dog park and recently discovered a love for skiing. Evan proposed to Brenna on one of their many ski adventures in February 2024 and the two had started planning their wedding for the summer of 2025.
Brenna was known for her sense of humour, stubbornness, determination, and intelligence, traits she shared with her mother. Brenna had a hard-fought battle with cancer in her last couple of years, a struggle most people would never know due to the positive attitude she always held.
In her too-short life, Brenna touched the hearts of many with her adventurous spirit, infectious laughter, and unwavering kindness. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Celebration of Life in honour of Brenna will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home on April 5 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. A private ceremony will follow at a later date when Brenna will be laid to rest with her mother, Roberta. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society of Manitoba or the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

I had the privilege of working with Brenna since 2020. One memory comes to mind as I mis-pronounced her last name (I said it like the french word 'fromage') and she laughed and said Nat I'm not that fancy. She was so easy going and fun and made every person around her better. Rest easy Bren <3 - Posted by: Natasha Brudehl (Colleague) on: Apr 05, 2024

Marianne and I have been a small part of Brenna’s life for the past 28 years as she and our son Sean were ole school chums starting in preschool on Ridgewood Avenue here in Winnipeg. Brenna was always special to us because she was a SPECIAL young lady. We went to visit Brenna at her home in Southern Winnipeg during the early days of her diagnosis. She was strong and was determined…🙏🏻❤️ - Posted by: Bill Quigley (Adult friend) on: Mar 26, 2024
