Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCESCO (FRANK) CONSIGLIO
It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and patriarch of the family at the age of 86 years.
Papa was born in Maiera Cozenza, Italia and at the young age of 17 left for Uruguay to seek employment in order to help support his family back home. Here he met the love of his life Alicia. At the age of 24, he decided to follow his sister Teresa to Winnipeg where there was more opportunity. Alicia joined him later that year where they were married at Holy Rosary Church, originally located on Sherbrooke Street. Over 60 years of a beautiful marriage resulted in five children, Adriana (Darwin), Francesco (Rina), Lisa (Mike), Lidia (her late husband Bruce), and Fernando (Kristine). The family flourished and PaPa was blessed with 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Papa was a master Tailor and used this skill for a career he loved at Headingly Correctional Institution. Besides teaching the trade he was also a Corrections Officer at the facility and was highly respected by all. Papa loved so many things in life such as gardening, barbequing, pools and beaches, biking, walking in Kildonan Park with his friends, the casino, all sports, Christmas lights, and of course getting the best deals he could. Above all what he loved and adored most was his wife Alicia and all his family in Winnipeg, Alberta, and Italy. He took care of everyone and dedicated his life to all of them. You knew no matter what he did it was always for the betterment of the family. Thank you to everyone for the love and friendship you have given him and received from Papa over the years. This was made possible because of the amazing medical team he had: Dr. Rabson, Dr. Chakraborty, Dr. Dunsmore, Dr. Sen. Papa will be greeted in heaven by many family members and friends that he loved and missed so much.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, March 23 at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave., Winnipeg, MB, with Rev. Father Sam Argenziano presiding. Condolences at 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. Live stream link: https://youtube.com/live/Lz_2aTBxU84?feature=share Entombment to follow at Holy Angel Mausoleum at Highway 1 East at Navin Rd., Winnipeg, MB. A reception will be held at Holy Rosary Church Hall after the entombment.

Frank’s Family, Words cannot describe how sorry I am for your loss. I can’t imagine your pain and grief at this time. I met Frank and Rina and their family in Winnipeg more than a decade ago. Since that time we are friends, and we shared a few activities and good times. I never had a chance to spend time with Frank’s Dad. However, I am sure that he was a great person. I believe that dog will not give birth to a cat and vice versa. Time helps minimize grief, but It will never get rid of the love you shared. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Please accept my deepest condolences for you and your family's loss. 💐 - Posted by: Hermann Kamani (Friend of Frank & Rina) on: Mar 24, 2024

Frank came into our lives in 2016 when we moved to the condos. I have never in my life seen a husband and wife Francesco and Alicia offer us friendship with them and family ...Francesco became my godfather in 2020 when I converted to Catholicism and am forever grateful to him. Going to miss him and his ongoing energy he possessed. My hubby Salvatore became very good friends with him. They were like brothers. Hubby will miss his forever friend. I send my deepest condolences to the family. I worked with Frankie (Francesco) for many years at Headingley Jail, and shared so many fun memories. He always lit up the room with his warm smile. He was always teaching me Italian words like Merry Christmas, Happy New Year etc and then he would make sure we greeted each other in Italian. I can see now that he was loved and respected by all that knew him both at work and at home, and now our heavenly family has welcomed him home also. God bless you all. - Posted by: Maureen Breland (Co worker) on: Mar 20, 2024

My friends, who were long time customers of Frank, introduced me to him and I always enjoyed the visit along with the service Frank provided. He truly was a one-of-a-kind gentleman. Rest well and thank you for your years of service and kind words. - Posted by: Susan Lipnowski (customer) on: Mar 20, 2024
