JAMES SKINNER
James Skinner died peacefully at home on March 18, 2024 at the age of 99.
He leaves to mourn his three children, James (Judy Nichol), John and Catherine, and his wonderful caregiver and companion Brenda Espinosa who was like a second daughter to him. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Marion, his nephews and nieces and his dear friend, Cliff McIntyre.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife Sheila; parents, James and Dorothy; brother George; sister Maimie; niece Mary; and nephew Ed.
James served his country in the RCAF during the Second World War and went on to a distinguished career in engineering and consulting. He worked around the world making a real difference in the lives of many, but always returned to his beloved home in Winnipeg.
We are grateful for his long, happy life and we cherish the time we had with him. We will love him and miss him always.
Private cremation has taken place and a memorial will be planned in the coming months.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sheila Skinner Memorial Fund at the Winnipeg Foundation with all proceeds to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, or to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
