EDWARD TODD

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Edward Todd (February 14, 1928 - March 18, 2024), our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and cherished friend.

He was predeceased by his mother, Mary Syrnyk, father, Matthew Topolniski and wife, Mary Todd. He will be greatly missed by his extensive family; daughters, Camille Giesbrecht (Dave) and Joan Todd (Brent), his son Roger Todd (Susan) and grandchildren, David Hills and his wife Tracy Hills, Kevin Hills, Collin Reid, Colleen Todd (Jamie), Jillian Todd (Stefan) as well as great-grandchildren, Owen and Ashley. Edward also formed a beautiful friendship with Frieda Jorheim who will miss him dearly as well.

Edward’s life spanned 96 years, none of which were wasted as he lived in many cities including The Pas, Edmonton, Calgary, Victoria and his birth city, Winnipeg near where he spent his summers in Sylvan, Manitoba. If anything could rival his expansive love that was felt through many families, it was his admirable broad range of vocations which included hair dressing, TV repair and went onto teaching hair dressing for nearly two decades, after which he retired being an administrator of Red River Community College courses.

Edward was also very creative in his hobbies which ranged from acting, yoga, cross country skiing, dancing, photography; Edward also had a pilot’s license but his most notable hobby was painting. Many pieces of his work will reside in his family and friend's homes for decades to come.

He lived out his final days at Betel Home in Gimli, Manitoba of which he also made a big impact and will be sorely missed. We would like to thank everyone at Betel for the amazing care that Ed received.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Mosaic Funeral Home, 1839 Inkster Blvd., Winnipeg Manitoba.
