Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySANDRA JOAN FRASER
It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of Sandy Fraser on March 24, 2024, in Winnipeg.
Sandy was predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Alice.
Sandy loved people and they loved her. She was able to form lasting relationships and maintained these connections through the years.
Sandy grew up in her childhood home on Sherburn attending Principal Sparling and Sargent Park schools, graduating from Daniel McIntyre. She pursued her career in teaching, obtaining her degree at the University of Manitoba. She taught in Morden, Lac du Bonnet, and at Robertson and Lord Roberts schools in Winnipeg. With only being 4 feet plus she fit right in with her nursery and kindergarten students. Later in her career she found a new love in teaching Special Education students. She retired in 2007 because of health issues. Despite all her medical challenges she never complained. She was always interested in the people around her, welcoming them with a smile and her quick wit. Sandy loved to shop, travel, spend time at the lake and always enjoyed socializing with friends and family.
Sandy appreciated all care provided to her during her hospitalization, with a special thank you to the staff of MICU Health Sciences Centre for their exceptional care and compassion. Also, thanks to the many friends and cousins that helped make her hospital stay more comfortable.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. April 3, 2024 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg.
In keeping with Sandy’s ever so generous spirit, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.

I was so sad to hear about Sandy’s passing. I met Sandy at the Wellness Institute, we did a yoga class together. She was always so friendly and funny. She will be missed. - Posted by: Sheri owen (Yoga friend) on: Apr 03, 2024

I was very sad to hear Sandy has passed away. We were colleagues at Robertson School and did many fun learning activities with our classes. Sandy was small in stature but an enormously kind, caring, energetic and generous lady. She was always so much fun to be around.
