Date of Passing: Mar 23, 2024
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGIANA (GEORGIE) MARY HODGES
Passed away peacefully at the Convalescent Home Winnipeg on Saturday March 23, 2024, at the age of 102 years.
Georgie will be deeply missed and remembered always by her friends, Jill Patrick, Fran Booth, Avril Mochoruk, Val Crowe, Jim and Mary Mochoruk and their children, Kate, Brendan and Colleen. She will also be fondly remembered by Sue Morison, Doreen McMillan and family in the UK.
Georgie was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Lillie Hodges, her devoted sister, June Baynton, and brother-in-law, Peter Baynton and her lifelong friend Sheila Mochoruk.
Georgie was a loyal and proud employee of the Great West Life Assurance Company with a career spanning 42 years.
Georgie lived her entire life in St. Vital in the same home for 98 years; she was an integral part of the St. Vital community and the United Church. While working, Georgie could always find time to give flowers from her garden or homemade baking to brighten someone’s day. Retirement allowed her to devote more time to her passion of gardening and her volunteer work with Meals on Wheels, Manitoba Naturalists Society and St. Vital and Meadowood United Churches.
We are very grateful and thank the Convalescent Home Winnipeg for the excellent care they provided to Georgie during her time with them.
A celebration of Georgie’s life will be held when the flowers are in bloom, Georgie’s favourite time of year.
Friends that so desire can make a memorial donation in Georgie’s memory to the Convalescent Home Winnipeg or a charity of their choice.

Georgie was a wonderful, sweet and generous woman. We remember how special she made Thanksgiving each year when we were invited to her cabin to celebrate. We were so grateful to be invited to share that part of her life. Condolences to her friends. Love from Ali and Rod - Posted by: Ali and Rod (Friend) on: Apr 06, 2024
