Born in Manchester, England on March 28, 1933, passed in Winnipeg March 23, 2024.
Mum was born to Felix and Jesse Douglas. She was the eldest of four sisters and one brother. She lived in Manchester until moving to Canada in 1958 with her young daughter Lynda and first husband. After a couple of years Howard joined the family and two years more along came Cliff.
While we were young mum stayed home to look after us. We were very fortunate and have great memories of time spent with our loving mum.
While working at Sears she met her husband, Walter. They married in early 1980s and had over 40 great years together.
Survived by Lynda, Howard and Clifford; grandkids - Dallas, Holly, Jenelle and Jon, great-grandkids - Dominic, Izzy and Jesse, her brother William (Anne) and other family in the UK. Predeceased by loving husband Wally, parents and sisters.
Thank you to caring staff of Concordia Place 2nd floor and support staff of home. Also to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba for their support.
A Private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Donations in Evelyn's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
