It's hard to believe that it is a year since your passing, Art. It's still surreal. It came by so unexpectedly, and broke our hearts to lose you. And all, sadly, just before your surprise 80th birthday celebration was to take place. Please know how much you meant to all of us, and how much we appreciated you always being there when we needed you. I could always count on you. Thanks, Art. Family gatherings are not the same without you. Jen will be missing you in her own special way for sure, despite her illness, as your love for each other was a special bond that time and illness, can't erase. I will end this by saying that you are thought about each and everyday, with love and remembrance, and a wish that we had had more time together. We try and take solace in you now being with Bon and Jack, and Mom and Dad and other family members. Rest easy, my dear brother. You will never be forgotten. Here it is March 28th - your birthday, Art. It will be the first time that we are not able to celebrate our birthdays together, with them being so close to each other. It was always tradition that we did so along with celebrating Mom's too, until her passing, due to her day occuring between ours. I will always miss that. We wish that you had been able to have that big surprise celebration that was planned for you last year. But it wasn't meant to be, I guess. Thinking of you on your special day and everyday. Great loss to the Stonewall Community. Art also known as Arty Argus due to his long time with the paper. My prayers are with Jenny and the family. - Posted by: Raymond Ruth (Friend and past co-worker) on: Apr 18, 2024

I learned of Art's passing too late to attend the service in Stonewall on Tuesday, but I would like all his family to know what a great guy he was to share a baseball field with on a summer's day or evening. I was an umpire and Art never cussed me out, even if I blew a call (it happens!) and he and I both knew it. It always made me happy to see him at a ball game and I'm sure many, many other people would say the same. Now he has stolen home from third and won the game. Art was a wonderful man, a gift to the game and to his community. Godspeed, Art, and my most sincere condolences to your family. - Posted by: Jim Rodger (Baseball Colleague) on: Apr 11, 2024

Growing up, my uncle Art was one of my favourite people. He always had a smile on his face and loved to tease me with his sideways glance and his giggle. I will forever remember his sense of humour and his kind demeanour. He made me feel loved and protected and our family will miss him dearly. This world has lost a good one. Rest in peace my dear uncle. We love you❤️🙏🏼 - Posted by: Tracey Slobogian (Niece) on: Apr 06, 2024
