HERMAN ARTHUR LEHNUS

November 6, 1939 - April 7, 2024

Herman Arthur Lehnus, of Brandon Manitoba, peacefully passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at the Brandon Regional Health Center, with his children by his side.

Dad was born on November 6, 1939, in Davidson, Saskatchewan. When he was two years old the family moved to Prince Albert. He attended Begin and Paddockwood schools, and later studied mechanics at a vocational school.

While working in Radisson, SK, he met the love of his life, Marg, and they were married in 1963. With Dad being in the army, they were able to travel and explore Europe with us kids in tow before settling in Brandon with a posting to Shilo.

After leaving the army, Dad became an Agricultural Mechanic and worked for Wheatbelt Equipment for many years. He was a natural at fixing things, so this was the perfect job for him.

Mom and Dad attended Bethel Christian Assembly, which Dad called home for over 40 years. He volunteered in many different roles and made lots of friends along the way. The biggest disappointment came when he started dialysis, and his treatments kept him from attending Sunday morning services with Mom.

Art will be lovingly remembered by his son Kevin, daughter Kimberly (Barry), grandson Carson, sister Lillian, sisters-in-law Evelyn, Lorraine and Margaret, numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff for their kindness, support, and care shown to Dad and to the family during his stay at the Brandon General Hospital.

To honour Dad’s wishes, a private family burial will take place.
