It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of John on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the Riverview Health Centre, with his loving wife and long-time friend by his side. John fought a courageous battle with cancer for almost four years, and he handled his illness with dignity and grace.
John was predeceased by his mother Amy, father Colin, beloved wife and mother of his children, May, and sisters, Blanche, Barbara, Sylvia and Marlene.
He leaves to mourn his loving partner of 24 years, Christine (nee Campbell), children, Lynn (Gunner), Betty, Donna (Mike) and Dean, grandchildren, Mitchell (Melissa), Travis, Ryan, Tyler, Matthew, Shayna and Jessie (Hans), great-grandchildren, Dreyden, Laine, Carmen and Mason, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many, many friends.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank the many home care workers and nurses and the doctors, nurses and staff at CancerCare Manitoba and Riverview Health Centre for their extraordinary compassion and care, especially over the last months and weeks of John’s battle with cancer.
