It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our father, François Le Dorze, a resident of Actionmarguerite St-Vital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He peacefully departed this life on April 7, 2024, at the age of 102 years.
François was born on December 19, 1921, in St-Gérand, Brittany, France. In 1948, he immigrated to St-Claude, Manitoba, where he joined his uncle Jean Marie Le Floch and his family. He later moved to St-Boniface, Manitoba, after his wedding to Marguerite Le Ponner in 1954.
He is survived by his wife, Marguerite, and their children, Guylaine, Philippe (Carmelle), Jean-Marc (Carolyn), Christian (Deborah), and Chantal (Kurt). François will also be missed by his grandchildren, Vincent, Geneviève, Pierric, Josée-Anne, Chloé, Matthieu, Hugo, Simone, Dominique, Solène, Tristan, and Kassia, as well as his great-grandchildren, Dominic, Loïc, and Evelyne. He leaves behind nephews and nieces in France, and cousins in both France and Canada.
A prayer meeting will be held on April 15, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Home, located at 357 rue Des Meurons, Winnipeg, MB. The religious service to honour François will take place at St. Boniface Cathedral, 180 de la Cathedral Avenue, Winnipeg, MB on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Note that the eulogy will precede the religious ceremony and will begin at 10:40 a.m. Live streaming on YouTube will begin at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday, April 16 at live.cstboniface.ca. In addition to expressing our sincere gratitude to all who have shared in our grief and offered their support during this difficult time, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff of Actionmarguerite St-Vital.
