MARC FONTAINE

July 15, 1947 - April 12, 2024

On Friday, April 12, 2024, Marc passed away with peace and love in his heart. His wife of 46 years was by his side.

He was predeceased by his father Rosaire, mother Clothilde (née Mahé), sister Madeleine Wiebe and brothers, Francis and Maurice.

Left to remember him are his wife Bonnie, children, Trent, Mathieu (Leanne), Leighton and Anna (Jason Hovland), Mathieu’s children, Riel, Alaina and Joseph and Leighton’s children, Cohen, Julien and Serina; as well as his siblings, Guy (Angèle), Robert (Monique), Margueritte (Gerry Pichette), sisters-in-law, Yvonne (Francis) and Rolande (Maurice), brother-in-law Ron Wiebe, numerous nieces and nephews, special friends, Regg and Doreen Wahl and everyone else who knew and loved him.

Marc was born in St. Boniface in 1947 and lived there until 1984 when the family moved to Lorette, MB. He was employed 29 years with the Province of Manitoba (Queen’s Printer, Department of Highways and Department of Justice) until his retirement in 2002.

Marc always felt very fortunate to be able to spend his retirement years fulfilling his lifelong dreams of living a more rural lifestyle and dedicating himself to his art. He always felt a deep spiritual connection to nature and successfully passed that on to his children and grandchildren. He had a deep passion for social justice based on God’s teachings.

My Commandment: love one another as I have loved you. John 15:12
